It never ceases to amaze me that we serve a God that cannot be confined to a box. In these fluid times, we need to freely think outside the box. That said, I would invite you to join with us for virtual Holy Communion that will be taking place at both Maundy Thursday and Easter services.
To join in The Lord’s Supper takes just a little preparation beforehand. Before the service, take time to gather the elements for Communion. This can be as easy as you want it to be. Gather the “bread” which can be a slice of ordinary bread, a roll, cracker, cookie, goldfish cracker, etc. anything will do. Don’t feel the need to go out and purchase anything, just use whatever food item you have on hand. Also, gather the “fruit of the vine” which can be juice, wine, water, or any beverage you have on hand. Bring them into the space where you will be having virtual worship. If you want, you could also set the space to make it feel like a worship space. You could do things like gather a cross, candle or anything that connects you to God, then place it in the designated space.
Remember sacred space is about intention. It’s about preparing our hearts for worship of this amazing God, so do whatever you feel you need to prepare your heart for worship. We hope you will join us for this new outside the box way of meeting Jesus at the table.
Join our Maundy Thursday Service at 2:00 pm Facebook Live, and follow along with the bulletin.
In Christ Peace,
Pastor Nicki
