March 31st Letter from the Pastor

Letter to Congregation 03-31-2021

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We are now halfway through this Holy week, but we can’t rush Easter. We must continue making this final trek to the cross in order to truly experience the joy of Easter resurrection. We have several opportunities to help us walk the rest of this last week to the cross. First, is to continue in our spiritual practices that we committed to at the beginning of Lent. There is also an opportunity this evening for the final self-guided bible study reflection looking at weeks five and six. Another opportunity is to join in on Maundy Thursday evening worship at 6:30pm. Last, is an ecumenical service for Good Friday that was prerecorded and put together by the local clergy of the Stroudsburgs. Information for all these opportunities is below.

After all these opportunities, we will culminate the week with our Easter celebration of the resurrection of Jesus the Christ. This year the Easter service will be an outdoor service again. Please share with any and all who are welcome to join us in their cars for our parking lot Easter Sunday Celebration of Christ’s resurrection. As we have in the past, the Lord’s Supper will take place on Maundy Thursday and during the Easter celebration services. I would invite you to do as we have been doing by bringing along the communion elements. Remember, this does not mean you have to go out and buy anything. Just bring “bread” which can be a slice of ordinary bread, a roll, cracker, cookie, goldfish cracker, Easter basket candy etc. and the “fruit of the vine” can be juice, wine, water or any beverage you have on hand. If you forget, or someone invited was unaware, we do have individually packaged communion elements if needed. Let us continue to walk this journey to the cross in these final days so that when Sunday comes we can experience the greatest joy together.

In His Peace,
Pastor Nicki
